Using the syllabus, the WBPSC aspirants will be able to understand the amount of syllabus which we need to learn before you prepare for the exam.
The questions in the WBCS Exam are limited from the topics given here. The level of question complexity is been seen as the Graduation level.
WBCS Syllabus is different for both the Preliminary & Mains Exam. The candidates must find a good strategy to study and crack the Prelims & mains Exam. The subjects of the WBCS Prelims Exam are:
- Mathematics
- General intelligence and reasoning
- General science
- General awareness.
The prelims exam of the WBCS Exam is scheduled on February 9th, 2020. Those who have filled the online application form for the same can check the details properly
As you know, those who will be qualifying the Prelims exam will go for the Mains. The next and final round of the WBCS exam is Interview. Final selection is done on the basis of total marks secured in the Personality test & Mains Exam.

WBCS Syllabus 2020 – Prelims exam
The Preliminary exam of the WBCS exam is comprised of General Studies. This is divided into eight sections.
- The exam is divided into 8 sections.
- The exam is qualifying in nature.
- The duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

WBCS Mains Exam Syllabus 2020
The candidates who will be shortlisted for the WBCS Mains Exam will have to compete for the six compulsory subjects and one optional subject.
These six subjects are encapsulated into two papers. The total marks for exams are 200. The candidates will be allowed 3 hours’ time to write each paper.
